Sobre Amadurecer/ Of Being Mature

It hurts. It hurts a lot. The sensation that time is really going by, it only starts to make sense and become real after 35. Before, it seems something distant and cloudy. You listen to people talk, comment, complain, but it only makes sense to you when you are there, witnessing your own aging.

Being mature has two faces, one not so good, which is connected to the aging process, which we are all bound to, unless we die young, and one, very good, connected to wisdom and humility.

On aging, really there is no other way out, skin becomes flabby, less firm, you look yourself at the mirror and notice so many lines that weren't there before...

You are afraid of not being attractive anymore, of not having so many choices (love, professional, etc), but you know that that is part of the journey you decide to endeavor called life. And wanting to stop time (to be 30 forever!) is useless, a complete waste of time.

But, with time, comes wisdom and humility. You have already been shaken by life, learned some lessons, as life does not allow anyone to go without learning its lessons.

And you learn, if you are wise, to be humbler and more tolerant. Don't ask me why I came to this conclusion...it just happened...

Hanami

Man, I loved this movie! It is so deep, so involving and sensitive. Rudy has a terminal disease, but only Trudi, his wife, knows it.

Trudi suffers in silence for knowing those could be the last days with her husband. They decide to visit their children, but they are not really into meeting their parents and see them as a disturbance.

Trudi's lifetime dream has always been to visit Japan, always discouraged by Rudy. But something happens, and Rudy decides to visit his son in Japan and pay the last homage to this great love.

It is a movie about friendship, loyalty, surprises and love, lots of love.

Como a gente se engana com as pessoas.../How we can get deceived by people...

We sometimes think that we are before a great gift, a great person, etc.

But we can really fool ourselves in the process, and end up finding that that great gift or person, whom we considered wonderful, is, in truth, a big cheat!
