Cara, eu sempre me c... de rir quando eu vejo "National Lampoon's Vacation" com o Chevy Chase. Aliás, não só ele, como também todo o elenco (Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, Anthony Michael Hall, entre outros) é hilário!
Chevy, é a personificação do Anti-herói Americano. Ele critica tudo, paquera outras mulheres quando está longe da mulher, dá fora nos filhos, deixa a tia morta (no primeiro National Lampoon) sentada numa cadeira pegando chuva com um recado para o filho da mesma, rouba dinheiro de um hotel, e para finalizar é claro, faz o segurança de um parque de diversões de refém, só para se divertir com a família! Mas, ele consegue uma empatia com o público, um carisma, que é difícil de se imaginar atualmente com outro ator hollywoodiano. Nem Jim Carrey, com todas as suas caretas, chega aos pés de Chevy!
Man, I always s... myself when I watch "National Lampoon's Vacation" with Chevy Chase. Not only him, but also the whole cast (Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid, Anthony Michael Hall, among others), is hilarious!
Chevy is the embodiment of the American antihero. He criticizes everything, flirts with other women when his wife is away, tells his children off, leaves the dead aunt (in the first National Lampoon) sitting on a chair catching rain with a message for her son, steals money from a hotel, and finally, of course, he holds the security guard from an entertainment park hostage, just to have fun with his family! But, he is such an emphatic and charismatic character, that is difficult to imagine another Hollywood actor to match his wits. Not even Jim Carrey, with all his grimaces, can beat Chevy!
